M.I.A. will return next week with her next single: a new version of "Bad Girls", originally released on her mixtape Vicki Leekx. Produced by Danja (Timbaland, Madonna, Justin Timberlake) the single will be available to stream here on Pitchfork on Monday, January 30, followed by an official release on Tuesday, January 31.

The "Bad Girls" video, directed by Romain Gavras, who did the "Born Free" video, will premiere on February 3. M.I.A.'s full-length followup to 2010's /\/\/\Y/\ is set for release this summer.

Luke James - I Want You (Prod by KadisandSean)

Check out Luke James's official website to hear I Want You in full. As described in the feature article on Luke James

UPDATE: Looks like we have another Danjaesque track as this is actually produced by KadisandSean not Danja. Apologies!

I Want You features interesting breaks and tempo shifts, the sparse yet bright track pulsates with an infectious, hip-hop-influenced beat. That foundation provides the perfect complement to James’ pure, arresting falsetto as he sings: “I was just a broken record of one-night stands /Til you came along with your beautiful song …”

“It’s all about the voice,” says Danja. “And that’s what he’s captured on every record. Production doesn’t matter. No matter how sparse or grand I make it, he takes control and makes it about him.”
