From the Goodie Bag, Volume 8: Katharine McPhee EPK Clips

After much hype and anticipation, we finally reached into the bag and pulled this one out. Check out clips from the Katharine McPhee album electronic press kit. Of course, we can't post the whole thing, but the clips featuring Jim Beanz and Ms. Lago are intact. You also get to hear alternate verses and outtakes from "Love Story" and "Neglected."

It's not difficult to imagine yourself in space or at the cemetery when listening to Danja-produced songs. This is one of the latter--Halloween approaches, so enjoy this eerie 17-second synth. Try to guess which song it's from!

From the Goodie Bag, Volume 6

The year is 2007, and rapper Mike Jones (who?) is preparing for the release of his album, The American Dream. He enlists the help of comrades like Salih Williams, as well as industry pros Scott Storch and Mannie Fresh, among others, to produce tracks for him. Also on the roster for studio time with Jones is none other than Danja.

Danja produced a song for Mike Jones called "Tenderoni (One and Only)," featuring Bobby Brown and T.I., but it didn't make the cut because the album, as it was supposed to be released, was shelved. We also learned that T.I. usurped the song from Mike Jones after his inability to get it released. At that time, we were treated with a snippet featuring only T.I.'s verse and the Bobby Brown chorus. Now, with the release of this track in full featuring all three artists (yes, it's here in this post), and the fact that T.I. never featured the track on any album, we can now debunk that bit of misinformation.

Where did this track come from? Well, Mike Jones, who has been known for his inclination to maintain an intimate conversation with his fan base, posted the song via Twitter last December:

Yes, this flew directly under the Danja Blog radar (and the radar of about every other rap blog... I suppose that must speak to Mike Jones' popularity). Only through an itch to hear the snippet once more was I lucky enough to find the full song on YouTube and hunt for the MP3 file.

From the Goodie Bag, Volume 3

If you were a Danja fiend back in the day, you might have remembered that one bulletin he made on his MySpace, where he declared he was going to do a West Coast version of Street Power. While that never materialized, Danja has worked with a number of West Coast rappers, including Snoop Dogg and Game.



In 2007, we learned that Danja would be working with Bishop Lamont, a rapper signed to Dr. Dre's label. We got two tracks out of the pairing, and one of the more elusive tracks was "So Sad" featuring Chevy Jones.  I know I haven't heard this one in at least a year, and have never heard it without tags. So,  join me in listening to this track from the archives.

From the Goodie Bag, Volume 2

It's been a month since I last dipped into the Goodie Bag, so here's another treat for you Danja fans out there.

You may remember Nox from the beef that Scott Storch and Timbaland had three years ago, in 2007. Nox was a foot soldier on the side of the Tuff Jew. You may be wondering what this all has to do with Danja, but bear with me. In 2008, the Thomas Crown Chronicles posted a video from Nox that featured the rapper on a previously produced Danja track, the "So Done" remix by Jeannie Ortega. I was able to get my hands on the song, and have posted it here for your listening pleasure, just in case you had never heard it.

From the Goodie Bag, Volume 1

Many Danja tracks have come and gone, passing right under our noses while we may not have been paying attention.

In the summer of 2008, before the PreAlbum was highly anticipated by Danja fans and KC fans alike, Kevin Cossom's MySpace page featured a snippet of a song, "Remember the Feeling", produced by Nate "Danja" Hills.  Since then, it has been removed and we've heard nothing regarding its appearance on any future mixtapes or KC's debut album.  But, now you can hear the minute-long snippet for yourself.
