I think this is my song for the rest of the summer! haha The beat is CRAZY!!! Masterful. Pure musical crack. Danja made that 808 his bitch. Love the chord progressions in the chorus/hook sections. Just really, really good stuff. I don't even care who's rapping or singing or what they're saying...
ReplyDeleteArgh, why oh why did he have to give this beat to Rick Ross! Ah well, I guess it makes no difference really who's on it. After all, Danja has a knack for putting out beats which dominate most of the artists he works with. Why should this song be any different lol.
ReplyDeleteThe beat it switches to on the verses reminds me of the Kevin Cossom's "Baby" song he did. Still waiting on the full version of that, by the way. *wink wink*
i really hate this track... :( Can't even explain why... i just skip it now...
ReplyDeleteAgree with Luke. PAASSSS!! Even before I found out today this track was produced by Danja I thought this track was the most wack on the album. Danja could've come harder. Although i'm not a big Rick Ross fan. The album as a whole is weak with his monotone voice.
ReplyDeleteGuys dont forget the importance of the mixing engineer!!! Marcella didnt touch it.... Dont forget that Danja prods = both him and Marcella ;)
ReplyDelete??? The mix sounds great. This track BANGS and does so cleanly. I don't know what you naysayers are listening to. And if people saw Marcella's name, they'd be saying they love the mix. Sometimes I feel like names need to be left off of music so people can actually use their ears. So much bullshit on the Timbaland blogs where people automatically dismiss anything with a co-producer, or they'll think it's another producer doing the track and say it's weak, then find out it's Tim and love it all of the sudden. SMH...
ReplyDeleteDang it...
ReplyDelete???? why u say dat Fred hahaa
ReplyDeleteNo believe me the track is alright, but you can really hear the difference between tracks mixed by Marcella! It's not about the name or anything, it's about how the vocals are placed in the mix versus the drums! I'm a producer and that's really something i care about everyday... Maybe that's just a professional worry ;) But the track rocks that's fo sure! But u gotta be conscient that the mixing is almost as important as the production, if you're producing you should consider it, if you're just enjoying music as a listener, then forget what i said :)
ReplyDeleteBecause it's a Rick Ross track... and a Danja track without a prominent synth is like summer without iced tea.
ReplyDeleteTrey could also have been singing or rapping on his verse... not rap-singing. I hate rap-singing. I know Trey can switch it up... he and Danja coulda had a thing going on there.
Overall the track isn't bad, but it doesn't stand out.
i think the beat is ok its not the best danja beat but its ok but i think the problem in this track is the lyrics its i think they arent right for this beat this beat needs something more powerfu for lyrics
