Listening to this, I'm stuck wondering how Dr. Dre would've sounded on it had he taken it

ReplyDeleteI think I remember hearing an unmastered version of the Usher track too before the final one released. In my opinion that was better than the final version too. Sure the final track sounded cleaner, but don't you think these sound more like Danja? I know Lago has had an involvement going way back, but I really feel that as the engineers get more involved in a track's production, while they can make the song sound more 'complete' they can detract from the overall feel of the song. This track sounds so eerie here, and I never got that from the final version. Love it!

Yeah, I wish Dre had taken this beat. Would have been great to hear it mixed by him!
