If you have been following Timbaland since back when Danja was a big hand in the making of his big hits you will have noticed this small banger called Covers Blown featuring Keri Hilson, Attitude and Sebastian (prod by Timbaland and Danja) fly under the surface of his debut album Shock Value! Well have a look at what they had to say on his official Timbaland Thursday site:
Since Timbaland Thursdays began, we have been getting a overwhelming response for a song called “Covers Blown”. This song Timbaland recorded features Keri Hilson, Attitude & Sebastian. Originally slated for the initial “Shock Value” album, who knows if Timbaland will add it to his latest “Shock Value” album. In my personal opinion, I think it should be released here on TimbalandThursdays.com . I think it’s a great song but didn’t expect the response we got for it. I wonder why everyone likes it so much? lol.
Well for everyone that doesn’t know what I am talking about, here is a video clip I recorded during the original Shock Value days in the studio, it is the 2nd song.

Could there be an actual release of this song finally, possibly for Shock Value III or possibly for his Timbaland Thursday tracks? Either way, there will definately be some happy fans if this happens.

Danja solo produced Cover's Blown. Thats why it wasn't on shock value 1

ReplyDeleteI really don't know what's going on, seems like this Tim/Danja collab has been put on hiatus for a while now. When you speak to people close to them, they all say they're just taking time out doing their own thing. Danja has started his new record label N.A.R.S. and Tim has got his label. Maybe now they've become competitors moreso than a production duo.
ReplyDeleteDanja once said along the lines of how there's a perception he and Tim won't work together again but it's about finding the right time, if the energy level there, if it's right; In other words, they don't set themselves targets, pick and choose who or when to work with a certain artist.
Shock Value 3 won't be the same without Danja. Did anyone notice how quality of Tim's beats dropped drastically without Danja. Things haven't been the same for Tim. Danja continued to progress after he left Tim. Tim is still a genius in his own right, but hes out of touch since he isn't working with Danja.
