I know that somewhere in the back of our minds, we had imagined Usher delivering more songs with Danja in the studio. After all, song after song is what happens when you put two hungry musicians in the same room and have them collaborate. Usher's really good for that. But, in doing so, Usher tends to work with a lot of producers, some whose sounds overlap with those of others.
So, with that said, we've got a new Usher song called "Stroke Your Ego", NOT produced by Danjahandz (which begets the question, by whom?). Despite that, the bounce is quite similar to that of Jazmine Sullivan's "Wastin' Tears", except a little faster-paced. I hope you enjoy this one!

Thanks to Bilal for the update!
Marcella said on Twitter that this wasn't them.
ReplyDeleteHence our update. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis sound actually good. It sounds clean, not to complex as a typical Danja track.
ReplyDeleteits nice to hear somthing good finaly its been quit long when we last heard a good track
ReplyDeleteThis is actually really dope.
ReplyDeleteBetter than most of the songs that make the cut on Usher's actual albums. LOL.
This sounds like a breath of fresh air. The sound is relevant for the time but doesn't sound forced, i want to made it :)
ReplyDeleteMan that reverb sounds weird!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't find this danjaesque at all, this sounds like a production from The-Dream, the flanged drums, melody riffs. Sounds like Dream?
ReplyDelete^Overall, it doesn't much like something The-Dream or his collaborations Los Da Mystro or Tricky Stewart would do, but I like this track.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know what you mean about The-Dream sound with the Prince like flanged drums and all but the mix of these drums is more clear and the synth are more tweaked. Tricky and co. sound like they use default synths. lol.
ReplyDeleteUsher's an ass for leaving this off his projects.
Shoulda taken off Guilty and other fillers. lol
BOOM, I use default synths time to time without tweaking them... but by the time I'm done layering, processing, effecting, it doesn't sound default at all. :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds cool. Better mix would be cool.
That's cool, fam.
ReplyDeleteI usually tweak them a bit, if not its just effecting I do cause I hate it when its easy to tell where a sound came from is all.
That's just me, though. lol.
You're right about this, though.
Would be better if the mix was tightened up.
I think he should hold onto this record.
this has to be brian kidd. listen to his new stuff with kevin michael. dude has mastered prince's musical "swag" to a muthaf%$^#$% T lol. im always impressed with dude. im most impressed with the songwriting in this tune because these words sounds like something that would come out of prince's mouth like i'll "stroke your ego", "let me pour a little courage in your cup", and on top of that the talking while singing flow. amazing. go bk!!
